NOTIFICATION ON HONEYBEE RAISING AND HONEY COLLECTING
All beekeepers around the World are constantly having issues with the health of their bees. In we face the same concerns. Our main issues are regarding antibiotic residues and adulteration of sugar during the feeding season. DK JS company is very concerned about these issues and have taken proactive and extreme measures to help educate and warn the beekeepers of using such practices in the future.
Unfortunately over the past few years, beekeepers have used prohibited antibiotics such as Chloramphenicol before or during the harvest. Not only does the prohibited residues make the honey unedible, it also ultimately reduces the trust for our country’s honey quality in the international market.
Therefore, in order to effectively improve the management of our bee products and maintain our production and business goals, DK Honey stock company issues the following warnings to our beekeepers
Antibiotics are strictly prohibited in honey production
The main prohibited antibiotics that are not allowed in bee product production are CHLORAMPHENICOL, STREPTOMYCIN, TETRACYCLIN, QUINOLONES (FLUMEQUIN, ENROFLOXACIN, NORFLOXACIN), and NITROFURANS. The list is not just limited to the above antibiotics but for all types of medications without registration label or clear origins.
The use of any sugar to feed the bees during production is strictly prohibited.
Any sugar such as cooking sugar, sugar syrup or others from sugars are not allowed during the harvesting season. This sugar ultimately gets passed through to the honey and the honey will be considered adulterated by international standards.
ANY HONEY WITH PROHIBITED ANTIBIOTIC RESIDUES OR HONEY DETECTED TO BE ADULTERATED DUE TO THE USE OF SUGAR WILL BE NOT BE ACCEPTED.
